Cutting It Close (Part 2 of 2)

I ended part 1 of 2 saying that after my automatic transfer on Monday, I'd be left with approximately $50.00 to spend for my miscellaneous for the rest of the month.  It turned out that the automatic transfer didn't happen last Monday, and I had that much more to remain in my miscellaneous budget.  To make a long story short, we still went over our miscellaneous fund almost exactly by the same amount my wife spent on the baby shower for her sister ($220).  I'm still debating if I count that as a loss or victory (leaning more towards victory).  Another option that we can do is to rollover the negative amount into February's miscellaneous budget since February only has 28 days.

In an unrelated topic, tomorrow will be our FIRST debt snowball payment towards my wife's student loan.  After that, 1 year and 11 months left to go to be completely debt-free except the house.

Tick, tock, tick, tock....

  1. Great job on making your first snowball payment! Who knows: maybe that loan will disappear even quicker than you think. :-)

    1. Thanks, Laurie. Feels good to make that 1st payment and making that first payment makes it feel real!

BUT, another wrench was just thrown in. We're going to send our toddler son to daycare and now have to figure out what to do with baby #2 on the way in September.

I guess, just have to take it day by day and continue to trust Him.

    2. Exactly, Charlie. It will all work out as long as you keep "seeking first......"

    1. Thanks, Fig. I'm still "figuring out" how to play this game. Unfortunately, a wrench was recently thrown into our financial plan. Too long to go into detail here. Will write another blog about it.
