Soooooo, we're expected to get hit with another 12 - 18 inches of snow starting tonight and into Friday morning!!!!! I was going to wait to purchase a snow blower until next season as I save up each month, but this has certainly swayed my decision to get one now! There are two specific models that are on my mind. The Troy-Bilt Squall 2100 and Troy-Bilt Storm 2410. If I had to wait until next season, I'm definitely going to get the Storm 2410.
Storm 2410 179cc 24-in Two-Stage Electric Start Gas Snow Blower
- All-wheel drive with choice of 6 forward and 2 reverse speeds gives you control and versatility in winter conditions
- Electric start eliminates pull-starting
- Serrated steel augers cut through snow for faster clearing
- Remote chute control crank allows you to adjust the direction of snow discharge without stopping or leaving the operator area
- Reinforced steel housing provides durability and ruggedness for years of use
- Good for snowfalls up to 12-in and driveways 2 cars wide by 3 cars long
Squall 2100 208-cc 21-in Single-Stage Electric Start Gas Snow Blower
- Electric start eliminates pull-starting
- No need to mix oil and gas with 4-cycle engine
- Drift cutters included to knock down taller drifts of snow for faster clearing
- High-performance auger design grips ground for maximum clearing power
- Remote chute control lever lets you change direction of snow discharge up to 190°
- 6" wide chute opening for a flow that resists clogging
- Good for snow falls up to 8" and driveways 2 cars wide by 3 cars long
Oh yeah.... those specs are what I'm talking about! Anyway, as I was searching to see if any snow blowers were still in stock, I was pleasantly surprised to see that the Lowe's by me had one Troy-Bilt Squall 2100 left in stock. So I quickly add it to my cart with the necessary accessories (gas tank, motor oil, fuel preserver) and go through the check out process. Lo and behold towards the end of the check out process, the system tells me that this item is OUT OF STOCK.
Another option/idea is to use a blower to blow the snow off of my driveway but not really sure how effectively that will be against 12-18 inches of snow unless I go out every 2 inches of accumulation or so. I might pick one up anyway because I'm going to need it for the spring/summer/fall landscaping and cleaning. Or I can research other snow blower manufacturers but I really have my sights set on Troy-Bilt because of the quality of their machines. I guess it really doesn't matter because all types of snow blowers are out of stock.
Looks like i'll be getting a real good workout in tomorrow and Friday morning.
